Designing a CRM from Scratch
INTRODUCTION
My Role
UX & UI Designer
Purpose of the Project
Nilead is a company developing an automated website-building platform. They needed a CRM that would allow users to manage the websites they created using the Nilead platform.
Constraints
The product was starting from scratch with a small team.
No existing data or research team was available.
We studied competitor platforms such as Shopify, WordPress, and Workflow to gather insights and inform the design of a CRM tailored for Nilead.
Time:
2 months
Date:
2016
CHALLENGES
With major competitors already established and Nilead’s primary advantage being a lower price point, the goal for the CRM design was not to create entirely new functionality, but to match at least the core features of competitors in the new version.
PROCESS
Analyzed and prioritized the most essential features for the first phase.
Redesigned the interface according to Nilead’s unique UI style.
Identified usability pain points and proposed clearer design solutions for users.
VALUE BROUGHT
Nilead went through several design iterations between 2014–2016 by the team’s lead designer.
Each iteration improved upon the last and received positive feedback from users.
Ultimately, Nilead became a high-quality, cost-effective platform well-suited for the Vietnamese market.
